Chapter 28 - A New Institution - A Fortnite Story
This is a fan-made Fortnite Battle Royale story in which I do not own any of the characters or anything used in the story. This is Chapter 28 of that story and will introduce the investigative office in Retail Row, the investigator skins, and the criminal skins. If this is your first visit, I suggest starting at Chapter 1. Enjoy!

A New Institution
Setting: The day after Chapter 27 | Retail Row
A small crowd was gathered around the grand opening and a small stage was set up in front of the new office, as well as balloons and a sign hung from the top of the building. The stage was empty, except for a microphone.
Star-Spangled Trooper was holding an expensive camera recording Ginger Gunner, the island's news reporter. She was holding a microphone and said, "We are here today in Retail Row to observe the grand opening of an investigative office that will be investigating crimes and giving the people of the Battle Royale Island justice. The ceremony is beginning shortly." The camera panned away from her and zoomed in towards the stage.
A man in white and blue stepped up on the stage and went to the microphone on the stage and said, "Greetings everyone, today we are observing the grand opening of the investigative office of Retail Row! Without further ado, please welcome to the stage, Sleuth, Gumshoe, and Noir!"
The two men and one woman stepped up onto the stage and the woman took the microphone from Blue Striker and said, "Good afternoon everyone! I am Gumshoe, to your left is Sleuth and to your right is Noir. We are opening this office to provide justice to you, the people of the Battle Royale Island, by directly working with the Elite Civility Force and looking into every reported crime and making sure they are handled correctly by letting the innocent out of prison, arresting the guilty, and applying the appropriate punishment to the guilty."
She stopped and handed the microphone over to Noir who said, "Everything that was said by Gumshoe is entirely correct, we will be helping the E.C.F. to appropriately handle crimes through thorough investigations."
He then turned and reached across to hand the microphone over to Sleuth, who kept it simple by saying, "I am Sleuth and they already stated everything, so, thank you for coming out today and showing your support, we are pleased to work with you and improve the overall well-being and everyday life of the Battle Royale Island's citizens." The crowd applauded and began to disperse.
Lucky Landing
"Empty the register into the bag! Now!" The man in black and white striped clothing while aiming an assault rifle at Scarlet Defender, who was working the register at Lucky Cafe. Behind the man was a similarly dressed woman, also aiming an assault rifle at her. Scarlet Defender complied with their demands and took the money from the cash register and put it inside of the bag. She didn't seem worried. In the back office of the Lucky Cafe, Crimson Scout was talking to Brite Bomber, the dispatcher of the Elite Civility Force.
"Elite Civility Force, what is your emergency?" She said.
"There is an armed robbery in progress at the Lucky Cafe by 2 individuals," Crimson Scout responded.
"You said the Lucky Cafe, correct?" Brite Bomber double-checked.
"That is correct," Crimson Scout answered.
"What are the individuals wearing?" Brite Bomber asked.
"Matching black and white stripes. Both are armed with automatic assault rifles." Crimson Scout responded.
Brite Bomber muted the phone and turned to Raptor and said, "Armed robbery in progress at the Lucky Cafe, 2 individuals armed with automatic assault rifles, both wearing black, and white stripes."
Raptor hastily wrote it all down and relayed the information to Elite Agent. Brite Bomber unmuted the phone and said, "Ok, E.C.F. members are on their way."
Crimson Scout hung up and looked through the peephole in the door that separated the main area and the kitchen and office. The Scoundrel was grabbing the bag and they were leaving. As soon as they were gone he opened the door and checked with Scarlet Defender to make sure she was ok, she was.
Elite Agent and Havoc were in Fatal Fields already, so it was a short distance for them to travel. They waited outside of Lucky Landing for the suspects. After about two minutes of waiting the two were leaving Lucky Landing. Elite Agent nodded in their direction and said, "That's them," as they both separated and moved for cover, expecting a gunfight. From behind a tree, while poking part of her head and her scar out in their direction, Elite Agent yelled, "You two in the black and white stripes! You are under arrest! Put the weapons and money on the ground and put your hands in the air! Any sudden movements will result in being shot!"
Not surprisingly, they both opened fire on her. She ducked behind the tree and said in her radio, "Havoc! Now!" The robbers had focused on Elite Agent and let Havoc sneak behind them and he shot them both, knocking them both down. In silence, Elite Agent and Havoc lifted both of them onto their feet, and forcefully carried them away.

Once again, ending it on a cliffhanger, Chapter 29 is going to be a transition chapter, so it'll be fairly short, sorry.
