Fortnite Playground Mode V2 In Development
Fortnite's Playground Mode is undoubtedly one of the best LTM's brought to the game. Playground Mode will be removed on July 12th, and Playground Mode V2 will be here to stay. Today, Epic Games gave us a little bit of what to expect with Playground Mode V2.
Epic Games stated in an official statement, "For the next version of Playground we're hoping to include functionality that would allow team selection options within the Playground itself. Here's a few things you would gain with the ability to select teams:
- 1v1s and 2v2s
-Aim assist for controllers
-Editing other player's structures correctly
-Traps affecting teammates/enemies correctly
-Highlighting teammates on the map
-Damaging enemies with your pickaxe
The Playground LTM represents our first step into what a full creative mode looks like in Fortnite."
While this gamemode is still in development, there are some things that could be added. That being said, I came up with a list of what Epic Games could add to Playground Mode when it becomes permanent. A lot of these could be selectable as options.
More than a max of 4 players in a lobby. If a group of more than 4 people want to build something completely huge or have an all out war, they could with this feature.
Unlimited time limit. Sometimes an hour is not enough time to complete a project.
Leave lobby without it ending. This goes along with the previous one, but if you want to get off for the night and still play the same map the next day, you should be able to. Going along with that, if a player quits or loses connection midgame, the game should not end for the other players in the lobby.
The ability to join game midgame. If a friend gets on after you have already started a project, they should be able to join in and help without the game ending.
Saving and sharing a map. This concept is similar to Halo Forge where if someone builds a race track for shopping carts, that person can share it for the public to play.
Ability to spawn items/materials/traps. This would most likely be an option at the beginning of the game, but the way it would work is you would have a wheel similar to the emote wheel that allows you to select a gun or a trap and have it spawn in front of you.
Ability to have unlimited materials/ammo. This is similar to the previous one, but at the beginning of the match, the host would select if players spawn in with unlimited materials and ammo.
Spectator Mode. This is similar to the replay mode, but you can see the game in real time, rather than going back afterwards and seeing how someone killed you.
Loot refreshes. An option to select an amount of time between each loot refresh, because if people are fighting in Tilted Towers, after a while, the loot will run out.
Keep inventory at death. This one is pretty self explanatory, but instead of the player you're fighting leave your loot after they kill you, it would just stay in your inventory.
Teleport around the map. This option would be in the map. You would move your cursor around and press a button that would teleport you to where the cursor is located.
These are my ideas for what could be added into Playground Mode V2. Have any other ideas? Leave them below!
