Chapter 23 - Gatekeeper - A Fortnite Story

This is a fan-made Fortnite Battle Royale story in which I do not own any of the characters or anything used in the story. This is Chapter 23 of that story and it will introduce Flytrap, Oblivion, and Wingman. Enjoy!

Gatekeeper

Setting: South of Wailing Woods | Night

          Carbide and Valor were awaiting Wukong's arrival in order to guide them to the bunker where Omega was keeping Ventura and Venturion. "He probably got distracted, maybe we should head back and get him," Valor suggested.

          "No, he'll show up," Carbide responded. They waited for around five minutes until they saw Steelsight coming over.

          "Steelsight, why are you here?" Valor asked.

          "Wukong had to stop an armed robbery at the Lucky Cafe, but he told me where the bunker was, so I'm here in his place," Steelsight answered.

          "Ok, lead the way," Carbide said, letting Steelsight go in front of him. They went down the slope and into the forest. 

          It was oddly dark in there when Valor said, "Something doesn't feel righ... Ah!" The floor beneath her shot up and she was encased in vines.

          "Hold on Valor! We'll get you out!" Steelsight yelled, reaching up at the vines.

          "You two aren't going anywhere either," A mysterious shadow said.

          Carbide turned around and said, "And what are you going to do?" The figure stepped forward and revealed it to be Flytrap. He pointed his hand at Steelsight and Carbide, vines shot out and forced them into a tree, holding them there. "You won't get away with this!" Carbide yelled, struggling to get free.

          "Sorry, nobody enters Master Omega's forest without permission," Flytrap said snobbishly. The vines holding them against the tree let out a gas that knocked them both down. Valor's vines released and she fell from the tree, knocking her down as well. They were taken to Omega.

John Wick's Mansion

          "They should be back by now," Moonwalker said.

          "Yeah, something seems strange. Are we sure they're ok?" Raptor responded.

          "They're fine, just relax," John Wick answered.

          "If you say so, Mr. Wick," Raptor said as he turned his chair back around to face his computer.

Wailing Woods Bunker

          "Wh... Where are we?" Valor asked, waking up. Little did she know, Omega was staring down at her with Oblivion next to him.

          "Welcome to your new, permanent, home! This jail cell," Oblivion said.

          "What? Why?" Valor asked, confused.

          "You and your friends get in the way of us destroying and conquering this island, so we need you out of the way," Omega said, "Now, is it really that bad? You're not dead, are you?" Valor sighed and went farther back into her cell. Omega and Oblivion laughed and walked away. They went and did the same to Carbide and Steelsight. Flytrap was standing directly under the bunker door awaiting their approval. "Flytrap, you've done what we needed, now go do it better. Find where they were operating and bring the place to rubble," Omega said.

          "Viney rubble, yes, Master Omega," Flytrap said as he left the bunker.

John Wick's Mansion

          Moonwalker, Raptor, and John Wick were sitting in the basement in silence when the doorbell rang. All three of them jumped out of their seats, but only Raptor went to get it. He opened the door to see a man in an aviator suit, "Can I help you?" Raptor asked.

          "Yes, you're Raptor, right? I'm Wingman. Carbide, Valor, and Steelsight have been kidnapped by Omega and Oblivion and they are suffering the same fate as Venturion and Ventura. Omega sent Flytrap to find you guys to kill you all because he wants to destroy the island. You cannot tell the others I am helping you. As an excuse for coming up here and who it was, I was the delivery guy and this is your new keyboard for your computer downstairs," The man said.

          "Oooook?" Raptor responded.

          "Good day," Wingman said as he shut the door. 

          Raptor went back downstairs with the package in his hand. "Who was that?" Moonwalker asked.

          "A delivery guy with my new keyboard!" Raptor said enthusiastically, "Hey, I have an idea. What if we tap into the security camera at the shack Carbide and Valor were waiting by to see if anything happened to them?"

          "That's a great idea, Raptor! Get to it!" John Wick said enthusiastically. Raptor pulled up the footage, and sure enough, he saw what went down between them and Flytrap. 

          Moonwalker gasped multiple times throughout watching the tape. "I knew I should've gone instead of Steelsight, then we would at least have one superhero," Moonwalker said, beginning to tear up.

          "Hey hey hey, don't cry it's not your fault. How could we have known something like this would happen? Don't worry, we'll get them back," Raptor said to comfort her.

           It didn't help, "But how? There's nothing we can do! We can't stop someone who can shoot vines! Let alone Omega!" She yelled back.

          "Hey, we're all smart here, we'll figure it out. It'll just take some time," John Wick added.

          "But what if we don't have the time?" Moonwalker screamed.

          "She's right. We don't have much time. Omega wants to destroy the entirety of this island, and there's not much we can do," Raptor said losing all hope.

          "We can at least hope for a miracle," John Wick responded. Raptor packed up his stuff and prepared to head home to see Brite Bomber.

Raptor and Brite Bomber's House (On the hill Southeast of Snobby Shores)

          "Hi honey, how was your day?" Brite Bomber asked from the couch when Raptor walked in.

          "Horrible, we're in trouble," Raptor said unenthusiastically.

          "What do you mean by 'we'?" Brite Bomber asked as she stood up.

          "Everyone"
