The McLaren 600LT Is Better Than The 570s In Every Way
The Longtail name has only been given to a few McLarens throughout history. Recently, the 675LT proved to be the ultimate track vehicle. However, the most notable Longtail was the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail. Not long ago, McLaren unveiled the 600LT, and it is better than the 570s in every way imaginable.
The 600LT is lighter, more aerodynamic, faster, and of course has a longer tail, hence the LT badge. The 600LT will be a 12 month limited production car. There is no set amount of cars to be produced, but the cars will be produced throughout that one year time period.
The 600LT will have 592bhp and 457lb-ft of torque. This is 22bhp and 14lb-ft of torque more than the 570s. While these numbers are not much of a difference, the 600LT is 96kg lighter, through the use of more carbon fibre.
The MSO route is a special option that grants the car a carbon fibre roof and front wheel arch louvres, thus making it even lighter.
The interior of the 600LT contains the same carbon seats used in the P1 as well as a lightweight sleek look throughout the interior. Another way to cut the weight more, is the option to have the seats from the McLaren Senna, McLaren's next hypercar.
You may be wondering, what makes this a longtail? The 600LT is 2.9 inches longer than the 570s. Along with that comes an extended front splitter and rear defuser for more downforce and grip, thus making it faster. The exhausts mounted on the back are shorter, and the wing is fixed, making it lighter and faster.
Over the past few years, McLaren has been taking over the supercar market, and they have no signs of slowing down. What's your favorite McLaren? Tell us below!
